Nourishing Self Care Practices That Supports Creating The Life That You Truly Desire:
Having a self care practice is imperative to living a liberated, courageous, life of abundance and healing. It helps to support you as you shift your mindset, change your beliefs from limiting to liberating, and take action.
When your energy resources are taxed or depleted, it increases the effects that triggering, distressing or uncomfortable events, conversations, persons or situations have on you and can reinforce any negative perspectives, thoughts or feelings and beliefs that you may have about yourself or others.
Self care practices regulates you when you become dysregulated, as well as promotes and supports the healing of your mind, your body, your heart and your soul.
Here are some self care practices:
Most important with all your self care practices-
Be loving, kind, compassionate, nourishing and non-judgmental with and to yourself as much and as often as possible. Be mindful of energy leaks and things that affect your mood and directly impacts your thoughts and emotions. Go towards what intuitively feels good and don't restrict, shame or guilt yourself.
Having a Spiritual Practice- helps you feel centered and relieved and can include: lighting candles, chanting, burning sage or smudging, reading spiritual texts, pulling cards, mantras/affirmations, saying a prayer, charging your crystals, visualization
Meditation/Mindfulness- being present and in the moment, non-judgmental noticing of thoughts and feelings, not labeling good or bad, right or wrong or trying to change or stop them, focusing on your breath, paying attention on purpose, practicing silence, practicing stillness, doing a guided meditation,
Physical/Mindful movement- yoga, tai chi, dancing, walking, running, stretching, swimming (anything that helps you connect with your body and release emotions)
Eat nutritious, energy building, body sustaining foods that make you feel more awake, energized, active, alive and uplifted.
Listening to, reading, or watching inspiring, motivating and uplifting content- books, audiobooks, podcasts, magazines, movies and music (being mindful of your access to information or activities that drain your energy or lower your vibration- scrolling social media, comparing yourself to others)
Rest- Rest is restorative and is so important to the FFFF system, mood and emotion regulation, thought processing and retention. Incorporate a sleep hygiene focused on the quality and quantity of rest that you get.
Positive self talk/no shaming or guilting self talk-Practice consciousness and awareness when speaking to yourself. No criticism. No condescending language. Speak to yourself as you would a friend, a stranger that you want to uplift and encourage or someone you love and care for.
Connection- Stay connected to the people that make you feel seen, loved, supported, inspired, motivated, excited about life, cared for and heard. The people that show you that you matter and show up for you.
Earthing/Grounding- A practice of placing your feet or your hands or both directly into the earth (nature walks, forest bathing, hikes or gardening, swimming in the ocean, laying in the grass, sky/star/cloud gazing). Helps to neutralize our free radicals, balance our energy and improve our health.
Journaling- helps you to dive deeper into your thoughts and feelings by exploring and investigating what is underneath, causing or contributing to your thoughts and feelings without judging or shaming or guilting yourself.
Purge and Declutter- your life, environments, and spaces of mental, emotional, physical or spiritual baggage (anything that doesn't serve the life you are creating).
Hormone awareness- as a woman, every part of your body including your thoughts and your feelings are affected by your hormones. If you find yourself feeling irritable, short tempered, more sensitive to criticism, fatigued, tired, less productive and more sluggish, engaging in more negative self talk, thinking more negative thoughts, body shaming, or craving sweet and salty foods more than usual, before you start to punish, criticize, shame or guilt yourself, practice hormone awareness because you could be experiencing the onset of your menses. Track your menses and be extra nurturing and nourishing to yourself.
